I'm a spoon carver, woodworker, and general maker of things. For more than a decade, I've shared my love of carving through Sylva Spoon, making videos, writing articles, and teaching classes and workshops.

Working with hand tools has given me a particular appreciation for sharp edges, especially when it comes to axes and carving tools. I've spent years using, sharpening, and experimenting with different tools and techniques, learning what works, what doesn't, and why.

At Sharpening Supplies, I put that experience to work creating articles and YouTube videos that help people understand sharpening and get better results from their tools. I particularly enjoy exploring axe sharpening, comparing different methods, and finding ways to make complicated subjects easier to understand.

My approach to sharpening starts with a simple idea: understanding what a tool needs to do helps you understand what kind of edge it needs. From there, it's a matter of finding a sharpening method that works reliably.
