Sharpen Hook Knives and other Curved Blades
This Sharpening Kit from The Spoon Crank in Sweden offers an elegant system for sharpening blades with concave curvatures, Hook Knives, bent knives, hawksbill knives and similar blades are a breeze to sharpen with this comprehensive kit.
Interchangeable flat acrylic pads hold adhesive backed abrasive sheets for sharpening straight or convex curves. Oak dowels also hold abrasive sheets for sharpening concave curvatures. Kangaroo leather strops allow for finely polished edges.

Solid Oak Base - The base features registration pins to securely hold the interchangeable acrylic pads. It also boasts a finger pull cove for easy removal of the pads, a non-slip bottom, and is treated with linseed oil for beautiful durability.

Three Plain Acrylic Pads - The pads hold the 1 5/8" x 6 5/8" (43mm x 170mm) adhesive backed abrasive sheets, and are drilled with registration holes that fit over the pins on the base for stable sharpening. Abrasives can be mounted on both sides of the acrylic pads.

One Acrylic Pad with Strop - In addition to the the three plain acrylic pads, there is a fourth with a suede kangaroo leather strop mounted on one side.

Six 1 5/8" x 6 5/8" Self Adhesive Abrasive Sheets - The sheets range in grit from coarse to very fine. The exact grits included vary by availability, but a typical example is 400, 600, 1500, 2500, 3000, and 7000. They are backed with an adhesive that will not leave residue behind on the acrylic pads.

One Oak Dowel - The linseed oil treated oak dowel is for use with the 2" x 4 1/8" (50mm x 110mm) adhesive backed abrasives.

One Oak Dowel With Suede and Smooth Strops - A second 9 5/8" x 5/8" diameter (245mm long x 15mm) oak dowel has two hand-sewn, 4" (100mm) long kangaroo leather strops, a suede on one end and a smooth on the other. Like the other wood components, the dowel is treated with linseed oil.

Green Honing Compound - The block of compound is roughly 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" x 3/4" (30mm x 30mm x 20mm) and is used on both the flat and dowel strops.
