Enhanced T-8 Performance with Tilt Feet
The TF-2 Tilt Feet accessory for the Tormek T-8 enhances performance by offering improved water management, safer transportation, and enhanced ability to use the Honing Wheel with the Grinding Wheel removed.
The TF-2 Tilt Feet will be standard issue with all Tormek T-8s manufactured after April of 2025, but if you have a machine made before then, these are a handy addition.
Improved Water Management
The TF-2 Tilt Feet mount under the Honing Wheel side of the T-8 and set the machine at a 2 degree tilt toward the grinding wheel side. This slight incline allows water that drips onto the machine housing to flow back to the water trough.
Safe Transportation
The safest way to transport the T-8 is with the grinding wheel removed. Removing the weight of the wheel protects the shaft from possible damage due to jostling. With the wheel removed the TF-2 Tilt Feet clip onto the main shaft of the T-8 in the wheel's place and serve as a transport sleeve. Used in this way, the Tilt Feet keep the main shaft from sliding side to side during transport.
Hone with the Grinding Wheel Removed
Just as the grinding wheel is removed to transport the T-8, it is also sometimes removed to allow for easier honing of long blades. With the TF-2 Tilt Feet installed on the main shaft, the machine can be run without the grinding wheel installed. This allows long tools to be finished on the honing wheel without interference from the grinding wheel.
Compatible with the T-8
The TF-2 Tilt Feet are designed to be used with the Tormek T-8. A T-8 with them installed will fit on the RB-180 Rotating Base.
The TF-2 Tilt Feet can be mounted directly onto the RB-180 Rotating Base. This feature allows the Tilt Feet to be used with older machines like the T-7 or the SuperGrind. Please note that on a T-7 or SuperGrind, you will need the AWT-250 Advanced Water Trough with the drip guard to catch drips from other side of the wheel in order to get the full benefit of the improved water management.
The TF-2 Tilt Feet work with the Tormek T-4, but as there is no drip guard for the water trough, you will not get the full benefit of the improved water management.
Store on the Universal Support
The TF-2 Tilt Feet can be stored by clipping them on to the uprights of the Universal Support when not in use. In fact, they can be used as a depth stop or position marker for the uprights of the Universal Support.
