An axe is often considered a crude enough tool that most people tend to just put it on their grinder and assume that a quick grind is enough. However, a properly sharped axe can be sharped to a finer edge that will hold its edge longer. The Tormek Axe Jig makes sharpening an axe a very simple and precise. Sva 170 Illustration

The SVA-170 Axe Jig comprises a clamp with a rubber lined, wedge shaped stop, which holds the axe in a fixed position towards the grindstone. The clamp works on the Universal Support, on which it slides across the stone.

The jig is designed so that the rotation of the stone presses the axe firmly into the jig. You only need to hold and guide the axe with your hands. This jig only works with the stone running towards the edge. If necessary, the leather honing wheel can be removed to allow clearance for the axe handle.

Q. Is this jig compatible with any model Tormek Sharpener?

A. Yes. This jig will work with both the Tormek T8, the Tormek T4 as well as older models like the T7, T3 and 2000.
