More Than Just A Pretty Honing Guide

Somewhere in England there is a guy named Richard Kell who makes this solid brass chisel guide. While it looks too nice to use it on your dirty sharpening stones, you can be assured it is not just for looks. If you are an experienced chisel sharpener, a guide is not necessary on larger chisels since the large bevel is easier to keep in contact with the stone. However, if you're using smaller bench or mortise chisels, this tool is indispensable. I own an 1/8" inch mortise chisel that is nothing but trouble for most guides and is very difficult to hone without a guide. With this guide, that difficult little chisel is very easily sharpened. Made of solid brass and stainless steel. This guide accommodates chisels up to 1" wide. Made in England.
