Compatible with Shapton Accessories
Like all Shapton stones, the Rock Stars work with Shapton Accessories like the Shapton Stone Holder, the Shapton Sharpening Pond, and the Shapton Diamond Lapping Plate.

Q. The Instructions say I should soak these stones for 5 minutes before use. Is that necessary?
A. Shapton describes the Rock Star Stones as splash and go. Get them wet and they are ready for action. However, as an advanced usage tip, they say these stones are designed to become a little softer with prolonged water contact. If you desire a softer feel from the sharpening stone, Shapton suggests a 5-minute soak before use. This is a matter of personal preference but is sometimes desirable with brand-new or very dry stones that haven't been used in quite a while, particularly in the finer grits.
Q. What's the difference between the Shapton Rock Star Stones and the Shapton Glass Stones?
A. The Shapton Glass Stones and Rock Stars are made from the same abrasives and binder. The most significant difference is that the Shapton Rock Star Stones are 10mm thick and do not have a glass backing plate. The Shapton Glass Stones are 5mm thick and are mounted on a 5mm thick glass plate.
Q. Is the Rock Star and Rockstar the same stone?
A. Yes, it is called the Shapton Rock Star, but it is often referred to as the Shapton Rockstar.
