Sharpen Convex Edge Beauty Shears

Japanese style beauty shears are often sharpened with convex grinds and are polished all the way up to the spine. Ordinary stationary clamps lack the motion required to do convex grinds efficiently. The Ookami Gold Convexing Clamp works with the Wolff Industries Twice As Sharp as well as the Foley-Belsaw Model 327 Scissors Sharpeners to perform this demanding grinding and polishing with smooth precision. Includes written instructions and DVD.

Adjustable Stop

The Ookami Gold Convexing Clamp has an adjustable stopping point built in to it. Choose the angle you wish to sharpen to, and then rotate from that point all the way to the top of the spine.

Incremental or Free Rotation

The Ookami Gold Convexing Clamp can be set to rotate freely or to do a step up grind in 3 degree or 4 degree increments. In typical use, a step up procedure is used to establish the convexing on the grinding wheel, and then the free rotation is used on the polishing wheel to blend the grinds together to create a smooth, polished convex surface.

Included in our PLUS Packages

Because of the importance of this clamp for doing convex beauty shears, we have included it in our Ookami Gold PLUS and Complete PLUS packages of the Twice As Sharp Scissors Sharpener.

Wolff Industries Part #30009
