Lubricant and Corrosion Protection
Gunny Glide provides outstanding lubrication and corrosion protection on all surfaces. Perfect for keeping moving parts on folding knives moving freely and staying free of rust.
Graphene and Hexagonal Boron Nitride
Gunny Glide is made of graphene and hexagonal boron nitride. These are two-dimensional one-atom-thick materials that combine to make an excellent lubricant.
Graphene, composed of a single layer of carbon atoms, is 200x stronger than steel and has more lubricity than any single material known, offering superior lubrication and surface wear protection. Applied to a surface, graphene will burnish itself to that surface, filling any pores and forming a long lasting bond to the surface. This allows the lubricant to become better the more two parts slide across one another.
Boron nitride is a thermally and chemically resistant refractory compound of boron and nitrogen. It exists in various crystalline forms that are isoelectronic to a similarly structured carbon lattice. The hexagonal form corresponding to graphite is the most stable and soft among BN polymorphs, and is therefore used as a lubricant and an additive to products. Using h-Boron Nitride adds chemical stability to the product while also enhancing lubricant capabilities.
Evenly Suspended Graphene
In other graphene lubricants, shaking is required in order to suspend it for use. In Gunny Glide, a patent pending process helps to keep the graphene suspended and creates more even distribution of the graphene.
Gunny Glide continues to get better with use. It works great on knife pivots and blade surfaces for corrosion protection and lubrication.
