F. Dick 12" Eurocut Standard Cut Round Steel
- 12" Sharpening Length
- Standard Cut
- Round Profile
The Eurocut Dick 12" Round Profile Steel is for those who want the high quality of an F. Dick steel at an economical price. The Eurocut has a 12" long round steel with a standard cut for general purpose work on almost any knife. It is a practical tool for maintaining a very good edge on working cutlery, and can also be used as an initial steel before finishing a blade with a steel of a finer cut.
We classify this as a Standard Steel. Standard Steels have relatively heavy grooves and work well to restore an edge on a dull knife. Standard Steels leave a toothy edge that will cut well, but may have a bit of a sawing action. They can be used as stand-alone steels, or as a coarser lead-in to Fine Steels.
All F. Dick steels meant to be used in demanding kitchens. This Eurocut Steel features a faceted handle, an ample guard, a ring in the handle for storage, and the 12" length is suitable for almost any knife.
And F. Dick has been around even longer than that. Johann Friedrich Dick founded the company in 1778 to manufacture files. They began making sharpening steels in 1873, and have been producing the finest quality steels in Germany as a family owned business ever since. They are rightfully proud of their manufacturing process. The cuts on each steel are made using files also produced by F. Dick. The steels are hardened to 66HRc, surface coated for lasting corrosion protection, and handles are permanently mounted. Each steel is quality checked and stamped "F. DICK Made in Germany". You can be assured that you are getting time-tested quality when you purchase these steels.
