F. Dick 10" Diamond/Ceramic Combination Steel
- 10" Sharpening Length
- Diamond/Ceramic
- Oval Profile
The Dickoron Dick Duo is two fast acting steels in one. The oval profile of this steel has two diamond coated surfaces, and two ceramic coated. The Diamond coated areas are on the smaller radius ends of the oval. They provide very high abrasion and are designed to quickly reestablish a good edge on a dull knife. The Ceramic surfaces are on the wide flats of the oval, which gives them excellent contact area with the blade in use, making for fast honing. They are a fine 1000 grit intended to refine the edge to smooth cutting sharpness. Use both surfaces on a dull knife, or just the ceramic to maintain and edge in use. Because of the overall oval profile, each grit type can be used with no fear of accidentally contacting the other.
All F. Dick steels are intended to be practical tools for use in demanding kitchens, and to look as good as they sharpen. The Duo is no exception. Part of F. Dick's premium Dickoron line, it features a large, comfortable handle. An ample guard keeps hands protected. A sturdy ring in the handle provides a convenient means of storage. And the 10" length is practical for most working knives and is easy to manipulate. These are steels made by professionals for professionals.
And F. Dick has been around even longer than that. Johann Friedrich Dick founded the company in 1778 to manufacture files. They began making sharpening steels in 1873, and have been producing the finest quality steels in Germany as a family owned business ever since. They are rightfully proud of their manufacturing process. The cuts on each steel are made using files also produced by F. Dick. The steels are hardened to 66HRc, surface coated for lasting corrosion protection, and handles are permanently mounted. Each steel is quality checked and stamped "F. DICK Made in Germany". You can be assured that you are getting time-tested quality when you purchase these steels.
