DuoSharp with a Plus

The Plus in the DMT 8" DuoSharp Plus stones refers to the area of Continuous Diamond Surface at one end of each stone.

The majority of these stones offer DMT's Interrupted Surface, or "Polka-Dot" pattern. These holes provide small recesses where the waste material produced by sharpening, can collect, keeping the stone working efficiently.  While that works great for almost all sharpening situations, there are times when the Continuous Surface is desirable, for instance when working on very narrow chisels or knives with extremely fine points.

Two Grits on Each Stone

The Duo in DuoSharp refers to the fact that these stones are two-sided.

Each side of the stone has a different grit. With two grits on each stone and a combination of the Interrupted and Continuous Surfaces, the DuoSharp Plus stones offer true versatility.

Four Grit Combinations

The 8" DuoSharp Plus is available in four grit combinations. Choose From:

• Extra Extra-Fine 8000 grit/Medium Extra-Fine 4000 grit
• Extra-Fine 1200 grit/Fine 600 grit
• Fine 600 grit/Coarse 325 grit
• Coarse 325 grit/Extra-Coarse 220 grit

This wide range of grits has your needs covered from reshaping dull or damaged blades to polishing to razor sharpness, and everything in between.

Versatile Size

These DuoSharp Stones are 8" long and 2 5/8" wide. This is a very versatile size that serves well for almost any size knife or tool.

Optional Universal Sharpening Base

Several of the 8" DuoSharp Plus stones are available packaged with a DMT Universal Sharpening Base. This most versatile holder works with all DMT diamond stones, including the Whetstones, DuoSharp Stones, and Dia-Sharp Stones from 4" to 12" long, and will even hold many non-DMT brand stones.

With the Universal Sharpening Base, your DuoSharp stone will be held firmly in place, raised above the work surface. There's no worries about your stone moving around, or hitting your knuckles on the work surface while you sharpen.
