View full detailsWater stones are one of the most effective and enjoyable sharpening methods, offering fast cutting action, fine grit progression, and a smooth sharpening experience. Whether you’re maintaining kitchen knives, woodworking tools, straight razors, or chisels, water stones provide exceptional control and precision to help you achieve a razor-sharp edge.
Water stones remove steel quickly, making sharpening efficient. Water stones have perhaps the widest grit selection of any sharpening stone type, ranging from very coarse stones for edge repair to ultra-fine polishing stones. Most water stones only require soaking or splashing with water—no messy oils needed.
Not sure which water stone is right for you? Our sharpening specialists are available to help. You can also check out our article How To Choose The Right Water Stone for You for expert recommendations, or read What Is a Water Stone? for more general information about water stones.
