Silicon carbide file are ideal for fast material removal. Their abrasive nature makes them perfect for quickly sharpening carving gouges, curved knives, beading planes and molding knives. Silicon carbide stones are relatively fast cutting compared to aluminum oxide files, and are often employed when speed is important.
