F. Dick Quality in a Combination Water Stone

Long known for their excellent Sharpening Steels, F. Dick now also produces combination water stones. It's the same F. Dick quality you've come to expect, in stone form. These combination stones feature two grits on each stone for a lot of sharpening in a small package.

The F. Dick stones are well sized for knife sharpening at 8" x 2". They give excellent feedback in use, with a hard but gritty feel. There's no muddiness or slickness about these stones, they epitomize the solid, no-nonsense utility F. Dick has delivered for many years. These stones are meant to give a great edge quickly so you can get back to using your knives.

4 Grits, 3 Combinations

There are 4 grits ranging from a coarse 360 for fast material removal to a fine 5000 for fine finishing, with a 1000 and 3000 in between. These four grits are available in 3 combinations so you can get the grit coverage that works best for your needs.

Soaking Stones

The F. Dick stones are soaking stones, they should be submersed in water until saturated before use. When immersed the stones will emit air bubbles. When the bubbles stop, the stone is saturated and ready for use. That's typically about 5-10 minutes.

Non-Slip Rubber Mat Included

Each F. Dick Combination Water Stone includes a non-slip rubber mat. After soaking the stone to prepare it for sharpening, set it on the rubber mat for a stable sharpening experience.

Honing Guide Included

Each F. Dick stone comes with a low angle honing guide. Clip the guide onto the spine of your knife, then lay the ceramic pad on the guide against the stone as you sharpen to keep the angle perfectly steady. The guide is sized for medium to large kitchen knives. The exact angle of sharpening will depend on the width of the knife as measured from spine to edge, but is generally in the 10-15 degree range.
