What is a monocrystalline diamond and why is that important?\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA. Monocrystalline diamonds are diamonds of high quality that are not fractured. These diamonds are uniformly sized. DMT® bonds these to a nickel backing to provide a long-lasting very flat surface. The alternative is to use polycrystalline diamonds. The less expensive polycrystalline diamonds are fractured and will not wear as long as the higher quality monocrystalline.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eQ. What do you recommend as a lubricant for diamond stones?\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA. We recommend water on diamond stones for lubrication and to wash away the swarf.
