Q. I see that the Soft Arkansas side is rated as medium, isn't that rather coarse?
A. We carry many stones that are deemed "medium" but that doesn't necessarily mean that they are all the same. The Soft Arkansas side is considerably more fine then a medium India or Silicon Carbide stone. The Soft Arkansas is in fact finer than a fine India or Silicon Carbide stone.
Q. Is the Hard Black Arkansas on this stone the same grit as the Hard Translucent Stone?
A. Yes, both are graded to the same level of hardness and will give a similarly extra fine edge.
