Ian Kirby is a British trained designer and maker of furniture. He began his training with the Edward Barnsley workshops and went on to study wood science and technology and enrolled in the four year design program at Leeds College of Art. He did his graduate work at the London School of Furniture. He has written five woodworking books and is a frequent contributor to the Woodworkers Journal as well as Fine Woodworking. He lives in Milford Connecticut.
