Easier clamping for narrow blades with the Veritas Mk. II Honing Guide.

Side Clamping

The Veritas Narrow Blade head for the Veritas Mk. II Honing Guide clamps blades from the sides rather than the top and bottom. Side clamping makes it easier to keep the blade square to the jig when working with narrow chisels. The parallel jaws of the Narrow Blade Head work with square sided or bevel sided chisels and even with blades that have a triangular cross section. It works with blades from 1/8” to 1-1/2” in width and 15/32” in thickness for bevel sided chisels or 11/32” for square sided chisels. It can sharpen bevels from 15° to 40°, and does back bevels from 10° to 20°.

Attaches to the roller assembly of the MK II Honing Guide. (sold separately)

Q. Can the Narrow Blade Head be used on its own?

A. No. The Veritas Mk. II Honing Guide is required to use the Narrow Blade Head.

Received my Sharpening System today,(Norton IM83) and I've got to tell you that I am excited about using this product. I've been in the meat cutting business for 45 years, and as you can imagine, I've used allot of different types and styles of sharpening equipment. I have had 3 Norton Multi-Oil Stone units in my lifetime, and then I see this IM83 and I think that this is what I need to carry with me when and wherever I go. I just LOVE this little box full of expertise equipment to keep me sharp and at a razors edge. Thank you for the service, it was fast and easy, and I received it within 3 days of ordering. I know knives and how they work, and I can't wait to start putting that edge on my "other" knives I own.
