The Naniwa Advance Super Stone is going through a name change that will affect packaging and labeling. The stones are still made of the same materials and the item numbers will remain the same. During this packaging and labeling change, you may receive a product labeled as a “Super Stone” or as “Advance”, however, these are the same stones. When you purchase more than one stone, we will do our best to provide you with stones that have matching labels and boxes.

Previously known as the The Naniwa Super Stone, they gained fame as a hard-wearing, splash-and-go stone that created an unbeatable polished edge on steel. Sharpeners fell in love with them for being so user-friendly and such a good value.
The Naniwa Advance Super Stones come in two varieties, the S1 and the S2. They are exactly the same except for thickness. The S2 Advance Super Stones are 20mm thick. The S1 Advance Super Stones are half that at 10mm thick.
Both the S1 and S2 Advance Super Stones are 210mm long and 70mm wide (about 8-1/4" x 2-3/4").
Naniwa S2 Advance Super Stones are made with a resin bond. This resin bonding gives the Advance Super Stones their unique attributes:
