DMT has created their first 6 micron (4000 mesh) Medium Extra Fine Diamond Stone. This grit falls between the 9 micron (1200 mesh) and the 3 micron (8000 mesh). This stone features a very fine 6 micron particle size, and the grit size compares to a 4000 grit stone.

This stone is in the Dia-Sharp® line of DMT® diamond stones and features a continuous diamond surface attached to heavy-duty nickel and steel backed surface. This diamond stone measures 8" long and 3" wide. The size is plenty large for sharpening most tools and knives. Includes four rubber feet to keep the stone in place during sharpening.

Use with water only - no oil needed. Made in the USA.

Optional Stone Holder

  • Raises the stone off the work surface to make knife sharpening easier
  • No-slip rubber feet keep stone in place during sharpening
  • Adjusts to fit a wide variety of stones (6.5" to 8.5" wide) including the stone sold above

Received my Sharpening System today,(Norton IM83) and I've got to tell you that I am excited about using this product. I've been in the meat cutting business for 45 years, and as you can imagine, I've used allot of different types and styles of sharpening equipment. I have had 3 Norton Multi-Oil Stone units in my lifetime, and then I see this IM83 and I think that this is what I need to carry with me when and wherever I go. I just LOVE this little box full of expertise equipment to keep me sharp and at a razors edge. Thank you for the service, it was fast and easy, and I received it within 3 days of ordering. I know knives and how they work, and I can't wait to start putting that edge on my "other" knives I own.
