Exclusive New Grit Combo at an Introductory Sale Price!
Medium Extra-Fine and Extra Extra-Fine now together on one 8" Dia-Sharp!
The Medium Extra-Fine (4000 mesh, 6 micron) and the Extra Extra-Fine (8000 mesh, 3 micron) grits have never been available together on one DMT Dia-Sharp stone. Until now.
The Medium Extra-Fine and the Extra Extra-Fine are the finest grits that DMT offers. They give the finest finish of any diamond stones we have ever seen. Do not confuse them with other, coarser diamond stones. These grits will not cut aggressively and are used only in creating that perfect razor sharp edge after you've worked your edge to near perfection on an extra fine stone.
8" Dia-Sharp Diamond Stone
This stone is part of the 8" Dia-Sharp Diamond Stone line. This is the first time they have been offered as double-sided stones.
The Dia-Sharp diamond stones feature DMT's continuous diamond surface, the diamonds are spread evenly across the entire surface of the steel core, with no gaps. A continuous surface diamond stone is preferred when sharpening small or pointed tools that can get caught in the polka-dots of the interrupted surface of other DMT stones. The continuous surface is also desirable compared to other, softer stone types that can be gouged by small or pointed tips. The Dia-Sharp stones are precision ground to be flat. The thick steel core provides stability while the nickle plating provides durability.
This new double-sided stone is a great way to expand the grit range of our DMT 8" Dia-Sharp Diamond Kit.
The DMT 8" Double Sided Dia-Sharp Medium Extra Fine & Extra Extra Fine is 8" x 3". Use with water only - no oil needed. Made in the USA.
Q. Is this grit combination exclusive to Sharpening Supplies?
A. Yes, we worked directly with DMT to create this new grit combination. This allows us to offer a grit past the normal DMT Extra-Fine.
Q. Do the visual blemishes on the stones affect the usage?
A. The steel plates are machined flat and tumbled to remove burrs as part of the process of making the stones. The 6 and 3-micron diamonds are virtually invisible on the stone's surface and will not hide any visual blemishes. These do not affect usage in any way.
