Do you need the smooth action of the large rollers or the small tool friendliness of the small rollers?

The Richard Kell Solid Brass Honing Guides are available with two roller sizes. The Chisel Honing Guide and the Plane Honing Guide have rollers 25mm in diameter (approximately 1 inch) and the No. 2 Guide has rollers 40mm in diameter (approximately 1-9/16 inch). The larger wheels give a smoother action and make exact tool projection less critical to achieve the desired angle, but shorter tools may require the smaller wheels for proper mounting. This kit lets you choose the appropriate size for the job.

Replacement snap rings are included.

Q. Are any tools required to install the Retro Fit Large Rollers?

A. A snap ring tool is required to do the conversion. Please excercise care and wear eye protection when using a snap ring tool.
