We recommend using Razor Strop Dressing on razor strops to keep the leather conditioned. When used on a new strop it will enhance the longevity of the strop and help it to produce the correct amount of drag over with your razor. It can also be used to rejuvenate an older strop. While made by the Illinois Strop Company, it works well on any leather razor strop.

Works on Other Smooth Leather Strops

Razor Strop Dressing is usually thought of for leather razor strops, but we have found that its benefits extend to any smooth leather strops. Rubbing the dressing into the smooth leather of a strop gives just the right amount of drag to the surface for optimal stropping. Please note that we recommend the Razor Strop Dressing for smooth leather strops, not suede.

A. We recommend using Razor Strop Dressing for any strop made of smooth leather. However we do not advise using it on suede leather strops.
