Inspect Your Edges

One of the difficulties with sharpening is the small scale involved. All the action is taking place in a relatively tiny area, and it is difficult to see what you are really doing. Feeling for a burr with your fingers is well and good, but it can't always tell you about imperfections or subtle damage to an edge. A good magnifier lets you get a close look at your edge to inspect it, and is a valuable aid to get the most out of your sharpening.

Light Where You Need It

Seeing clearly through a magnifier requires light. The more the better. With other magnifiers, finding sufficient light can be difficult. But with these loupes it is not a problem. 6 LED lights are built into the housing around the lens, so your edge will always be brightly lit for close inspection. And in case you wish to check the fluorescence in gemstones, 6 UV lights are available with the flick of a switch as well.

This loupe's 10x magnification brings the small scale of an edge into clear view, and the 21mm (13/16") diameter lens is generously sized. It uses a triplet lens to reduce distortion and give a crisp resolution. The folding design protects the lens from damage when not in use, and the included pouch will keep in safe and clean in storage.
