The Medium Extra-Fine (4000 mesh, 6 micron) and the Extra Extra-Fine (8000 mesh, 3 micron) grits have never been available on the 10" DMT DuoSharp stones. Until now!

The Medium Extra-Fine and the Extra Extra-Fine are the finest grits that DMT offers. They give the finest finish of any diamond stones we have ever seen. Do not confuse them with other, coarser diamond stones. These grits will not cut aggressively and are used only in creating that perfect razor sharp edge after you've worked your edge to near perfection on an extra fine stone.

10" DuoSharp Diamond Stone

This stone is part of the 10" DuoSharp Bench Stone line. This is the first time either the 4000 or 8000 grits have been offered in the 10" DuoSharp Stone.

The 10" DuoSharp Plus Bench Stones are designed with DMT's signature polka-dot (aka interrupted) pattern on steel plates attached to a central core. The large 10" stone can handle knives, scissors, and tools of any size.

The overall size of the DMT 10" DuoSharp is very generous at 10" long and 4" wide. This is the most surface area of any DMT stone. The 40 square inches of diamond sharpening surface is enough to ensure long strokes of your tool or knife, and more than enough space for even large plane blades. The double-sided stone offers a more economical way to own both grits on such a large stone.

This stone is a great way to expand the grit range of our DMT 10" DuoSharp Diamond Kit.

Q. Is this grit combination exclusive to Sharpening Supplies?

A. Yes, we worked directly with DMT to create this new grit combination. This allows us to offer a grit past the normal DMT Extra-Fine.

Q. Do the visual blemishes on the stones affect the usage?

A. The steel plates are machined flat and tumbled to remove burrs as part of the process of making the stones. The 6 and 3-micron diamonds are virtually invisible on the stone's surface and will not hide any visual blemishes. These do not affect usage in any way.
