Leather Stropping Belts for Belt Sanders

These are quality leather belts for stropping with belt sanders. Remove burrs and achieve a fine, polished finish. Use plain or with a polishing abrasive like the Green Honing Compound.

Available in 4 Sizes:

• 1" x 30"
• 1" x 42" - The correct size for the Kalamazoo 1" x 42" Belt Sharpeners
• 1" x 44"
• 2" x 72"

Choose the belt of the same nominal size as your belt sander.

Notes on Size and Use

Note that the actual length of the belt will initially be shorter than the nominal length. For instance, a belt labeled 1" x 30" will actually be 28" or 29" long initially. The belts are deliberately made shorter to account for future stretching. The first time you mount a leather belt on your machine it may be a tight fit, but the leather will relax after it is on. Purposely starting a bit short helps ensure the belt won't become too loose as it stretches.

Leather belts should be removed from the sander when not in use. Removing the belt will help prevent over stretching.
