The Tormek T7 sharpener has many imitators, but for those that understand the quality an versatility of this sharpener, there is no substitute. This sharpener has quality built into the design and a 7 year manufacturers warranty shows the long term commitment to quality. We are under no illusions that this is an inexpensive sharpener, owning a Tormek is a long term commitment to sharp tools and knives. The key word when sharpening the Tormek way is repeatability. The tools are guided in jigs and you remove only a minute fraction of the steel at each sharpening which makes it fast. An extra benefit is that your tools last longer. You can shape the tool exactly to your needs. Even such complicated shapes as fingernail turning gouges, spoon carving gouges and oval skew chisels with a radiused edge are easily sharpened. Once the shape is created, you can resharpen in less than a minute. The water cooled slow speed grindstone is in harmony with the physical laws governing the steel tool -- the edge does not overhead and lose its hardness. You finish the sharpening process on the leather honing wheel, which lets you polish the edge to a razor sharpness. In addition, there is no grinding dust to pollute the air. The steel particles are deposited into the water trough. The Tormek method is safe. At the low speed, you can fully control the sharpening. New! By registering your Tormek T-7 you will get an additional 3 years warranty, from the long Tormek standard of 7 years to an amazing 10 years. Buying a Tormek is a safe investment in quality and performance. Made in Sweden.
Tormek Planer Blade Attachment
The attachment comprises support (1), blade holder (2) and allen key (3). In this attachment the tool is guided precisely and ground flat along its whole length to a pre-set fixed depth. This is not the case with the other Tormek jigs, where your hand decides where the grinding occurs and the depth of grinding. It is important that the grinding angle is set with great accuracy. If you follow the detailed step by step instructions carefully, you will be satisfied with the results. Q. What is the difference between the T7 and the T3? A.
