Timberline Tool Scraper Burnisher

A scraper is one of the most simple and effective tools, yet without proper preparation, scrapers are almost worthless. With minimal effort, the Timberline Tool Scraper Burnisher can turn your scraper into a very functional tool.

A properly burnished edge puts a nice hooked burr on your scraper. Drawing a burr and turning the hook are handled by the burnisher. The Timberline Tool Scraper Burnisher makes creating a burr and turning the hook a very simple process. It will even work on curved scrapers.

The Scraper Burnisher consists of a hardened steel burnishing rod (it is hardened to RC-62) that is held tightly into the hardwood tool. The burnishing rod is held at a perfect angle for "turning the hook" on your scraper.

A set of very easy to follow instructions are included with every burnisher. The DVD is an option if you prefer to learn by video. The scrapers shown in these photos are not included.

Q. Do I need to purchase the DVD?

A. The instructions included with the burnisher are quite good. They include illustrations and are very complete. The DVD helps if you prefer to watch how it is done rather than just reading about it.

Q. What else do I need in order to sharpen/prepare a card scraper?

A. In addition to a burnisher, you just need a mill file (8" mill file is what we use) and a fine sharpening stone.
