Learn how to make the blade of your dreams

Anyone who has ever searched for good custom blades knows that they are hard to find. Stop wasting your time and make your own. This book will show you how to take a bar of steel and forge into a blade. Softcover edition.

This guide to smithing world-class blades is for the novice and experienced bladesmith alike. With this book you'll be able to build your own forge, equip your workshop, choose your materials, and get to work. You will heat steel, bending, twisting, folding, cutting, and stretching it. Finally, you will put the perfect grind on your new blade; fit the wood of your choice to the grip; and slip your blade into a handmade sheath.

The book covers the following topics and more:

  • The Workshop and Tools of the Trade
  • Steels to Use
  • Forging Blades
  • Rough and Final Grinding
  • Heat-treating
  • Grip Fittings and Grip Making
  • Polish and Finish
  • Sharpening
  • Scrimshaw

  • Whether you want a survival blade, commando dagger, broadsword, tanto, or just a trustworthy utility blade, it's all here. Written by Jim Hrisoulas. Softcover. 179 pages.

Received my Sharpening System today,(Norton IM83) and I've got to tell you that I am excited about using this product. I've been in the meat cutting business for 45 years, and as you can imagine, I've used allot of different types and styles of sharpening equipment. I have had 3 Norton Multi-Oil Stone units in my lifetime, and then I see this IM83 and I think that this is what I need to carry with me when and wherever I go. I just LOVE this little box full of expertise equipment to keep me sharp and at a razors edge. Thank you for the service, it was fast and easy, and I received it within 3 days of ordering. I know knives and how they work, and I can't wait to start putting that edge on my "other" knives I own.
