The Diamond on Glass Lapping Plate was designed to flatten Shapton Ceramic Water Stones.

Maintaining a flat stone is critical to proper sharpening. The Shapton Ceramic Water Stones do require periodic flattening. This plate has very tight tolerances for flatness so you can be assured your stones will be left perfectly flat. Designed for grits 500 to 30,000.

The Shapton Stones are famous for their quality. The Diamond on Glass Lapping Plate is best way to extract every bit of the performance from the stones. The plate substrate is flat to with +/- 5 micron, putting it in a league by itself for flattening. No other flattening stone has the substrate measured in microns. Measures 10" x 3-3/16".
